Race Results : State Time Trial Results
Posted by RHRoop on 2010/9/5 11:10:00 (68 reads)

A big THANK YOU for racing yesterday. It was our best race yet. Many additional thanks to the North Branch volunteers who came out at 6:00 AM to set-up the course, run registration and marshall. A special note of thanks to the very professional USA Cycling officials- Loch, Heidi and Dee Dee who started the race on time, scored accurately and wrapped up results quickly.

Here is the link to results for the 2010 Illinois State Time Trial Championships-

2010 Illinois State Time Trial Resutls

As noted in the flyer, to win a state jersey categories must have a complete podium (first, second and third) and the winner must have an annual USAC license. To that end several categories were combined to maxmize the number of jerseys that could be awarded. This included Junior Boys and the Women's Cat 4 was combined with Women's Open.

Medals will be awarded regardless of category size and will also be awarded based on USA Cycling Age Groups. For example, the race category Men's 50-59 will have ONE jersey winner but medals will be awarded based on 50-54 and 55-59.

If you won a jersey and did not receive it after the race yesterday please send me a note at statett@northbranchcycling.org me to let me know the size you want and your mailing address. All jerseys are in men's sizes (no misogyny intended) and are made by Pactimo.

Long Markers will be calculated and noted in the next few days. Long Markers are riders who rode faster yesterday than last year.

Again, many thanks for coming out and racing yesterday. In spite of the unseasonalably cold weather and wind it was a great day with many truly remarkable performance.

If you have any questions you can contact me at statett@northbranchcycling.org.

Thank you,

Rob Roop

Race Results : Single Bong 20 KM TT Results Posted
Posted by RHRoop on 2007/4/19 9:06:00 (489 reads)

Game on! This is the only thing that comes to mind after reviewing the results from the 2007 edition of the Single Bong 20 KM time trial on April 15, 2007.

A quick review of the past few years shows a much larger and competitive field showed up ready to ride this past Sunday.

In 2006 a time of 32 minutes or less would have assured one a top ten place in Cat 4. Fast forward to 2007 and tenth place had a time of 30:05.46. So...game on!

Ed Hernandez still managed to set a new club record for the 20 KM distance with his time of 31:24.84 for 20th place and Rob Roop was on his heels at 31:42.16 for 21st.

Gus Vaz de Costa turned in a respectable time in his first competitive time trial of the season with a 33:29.23.

Ed Elliott was just a few seconds off his own club record with a time of 32:28.72 and a 15th placing in the very competitive 50+ Masters Cat. If you think its easier to win once you've had a few more birthdays think again. The winner of the 50+ Cat would have placed second in Cat 4 with a time of 26:28.8.

So, fair warning to all the road racers out there. It looks like it is going to be a VERY fast year.

View all results HERE.

Next up is the Cherry Valley 30 KM TT on April 22, 2007. Bring it on!
